Tailormade Logistics and Bolckmans Group: A Successful Partnership

The headquarters of Tailormade Logistics was built by Bolckmans Group in 2008. At the beginning of 2020, TML approached Bolckmans Group with a new project, kicking off plans for a new site. This hybrid building was to be constructed on the same street as TML’s headquarters in Ghent. “We wanted to build a specific property with a crossdock to serve our fashion clients effectively, while also including the flexibility of a warehouse,” recalls Marketing & Communications Officer Wim Bauwens.

The available land space was utilized to its fullest potential. The L-shaped plot was cleverly designed, with the crossdock and warehouse following the shape of the land—perfectly addressing TML’s needs. The project took just 18 months from the initial brainstorming phase to the delivery of the building. Bauwens notes: “The tight deadline was our biggest challenge. For such a demanding project, it’s crucial to have a partner willing to shoulder the responsibility. The advantage was that we had already worked with Bolckmans Group, so we knew we could count on them.”

The site at Korte Mate in Ghent is bustling with activity, with trucks constantly coming and going. Bolckmans Group handles the practical aspects of property maintenance, allowing TML to focus on its core tasks. Reflecting on the collaboration, Wim Bauwens describes it as a success: “A partnership is always a bit like a marriage. There are many challenges, but if you communicate openly, the partnership remains strong. Our marriage with Bolckmans Group has been a successful one.”
